Come and join us for lots of nature filled fun including a wide rang of family activities including story telling, 'create a totem pole and quizzes. Visit the Village |Hall for the wonderful wildlife exhibition and display where you can look up close with a big microscope, see the world like a bug, learn about bees and be involved with a BioBlitz!

Go Wild in Porlock - Special Offers Discovery Safaris

Safaris will depart and return to the Visitor Centre at a cost of £10 per person –
a discount of £10 will be given if the party member books for 6 people.
The hour long trips will start at 5am and will depart regularly throughout the day.
Animals we hope you will see are the Red deer, Swaledale sheep, Exmoor pony
and Highland cattle
Booking should be made through the Visitor Centre before 4.30pm on Friday August 1st.

Go Wild in Porlock on 3rd August! Wildlife Walks

Make the most of the beautiful Exmoor countryside and its wildlife by joining us on one of our wildlife walks.
10.30am Tres and streams. Meet at Horner Car Park
11.00am Wildlife on Porlock Marshes. Meet at Porlock Visitor Centre.
2.00pm Butterfly Walk. Meet at Bossington Car Park.
Please remember to wear appropriate footwear.

Porlock Country Fair

Stalls, activities, side-shows and country craft displays in the lovely setting of Porlock Recreation Ground. Children's Races, Fun Dog Show,Falconry Display, Classic Cars and much, much more.

Exmoor Society - Porlock Group - Bossington and Lynch Walkabout

Meet in the National Trust car park at Bossington (charges apply for non NT members)for a leisurely walk to Lynch Mill where we will be shown around the mill by the owners. Light refreshments will be available.

A traditional village carnival with floats, bands and walking particpants.
Can be viewed along as they parade along along the High Street

Smugglers Run

Teams of smugglers try to evade and outwit the excisemen while carrying barrels across Porlock Marsh! Fun for all - spectators and participants - fancy dress optional. The teams will leave the Top Ship in Porlock at noon and finish up at the Bottom Ship in Porlock Weir.

Ada Lovelace Day

The Visitor Centre and Porlock have a close connection to Ada Lovelace (1815 – 1852) who is often referred to as the world\'s first computer programmer. Her birth date, 15th October, is celebrated widely around the world.
