Exmoor is a special landscape of great beauty and contrasts. The rich diversity of rural life that can be found in the smallest national park in England make it an enjoyable place to cycle.
Pedal around Porlock is a circular route in the Vale of Porlock along quiet leafy lanes through picturesque villages with stunning varied landscape and fantastic views across the moors, woodlands and coast. There are places to take refreshments along the route and attractions to visit.
Route Guidance
Users: Weekend riders and families with older children.
Route: Riding on quiet lanes, some steep sections around Luccombe and a steep descent down to Doverhay.
Duration: Up to 2 hours.
Distance: 7.8 miles (14.2km).
Dark green glass way markers cast by Jim Adlington and his team at the glass workshop at Porlock Weir can be found discretely along the route.

The route also features articles designed and made by local craftsmen and highlights the talents
of local people.
Benches at Bossington and Horner were made by craftsman Ben Horrobin, with tile insets showing the work of pupils from St Dubricius School. The timber used for the benches is chestnut grown and cut from the Holnicote Estate. 
Porlock Visitor Centre has a very special cycle rack and bench made by internationally renowned local blacksmith James Horrobin who based his designs on local orchards.
