PORLOCK

BOSSINGTON

A beautiful village, untouched by time, Bossington features lime-washed cottages with traditional tall chimneys and bread ovens. The National Trust car park includes a picnic and barbecue site, and provides access to the pebbled seashore via a woodland walk.

PORLOCK WEIR

For hundreds of years, Porlock Weir has been a familiar port for sailors and fishermen. Today, it still offers a reassuring welcome and is a picturesque location for a spot of crabbing, fishing or for a stroll along the pebble beach.

ALLERFORD

Allerford is the perfect place to meander with its medieval packhorse bridge, an award-winning country hotel and a renowned blacksmith’s forge as well as a wealth of walks in the woods and hillside above the village.

SELWORTHY

For lovers of old England at its most enchanting, Selworthy is a picture postcard village of thatched cottages and is well known for its whitewashed church that affords stunning views across to Dunkery Beacon.

Protected by the National Trust as part of the Holnicote Estate, Luccombe is the perfect thatched village. With its unhurried pace of life, it is easy to imagine the area’s long history, which stretches back to the Domesday Book.

WOOTTON COURTENAY

Often visited by walkers on the Celtic Way (Exmoor option) and the Macmillan Way, Wootton Courtenay nestles at the base of Exmoor’s highest point, Dunkery Beacon, making an ideal location for walkers and riders.
