PORLOCK VALE CAMPSITE
Enjoy peaceful, tranquil camping in a beautiful meadow on our working farm on the National Trust Holnicote Estate, with spectacular, panoramic views towards the Dunkery Commons, Webber’s Post, Ley Hill, Horner Woods and around to Selworthy Woods, North Hill and Grabbist.
The campsite is conveniently located to explore the surrounding Exmoor moorland, woodland and coast, including Bossington Beach and Porlock Weir, with miles of beautiful walking.
Porlock, Minehead and Dunster are within a few miles, with their pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops and the delightful villages of Luccombe, Horner, Selworthy and Allerford are local (including four tea gardens).
Magnificent oak trees, woodland, hedges and undulating pasture create an idyllic landscape, leading up from around 150ft above sea level to Robin Howe on the skyline and then over and up to Dunkery Beacon, the highest point on Exmoor at 1705ft.
Enjoy the peace and quiet, with the River Aller meandering through. There is myriad wildlife including buzzards, foxes, hares, rabbits, beavers and water voles – and you may even spot some wild red deer passing through. There is access to treated, drinking quality water, and basic amenities like washing up facilities, toilet block and showers.
Camping is available during July and August for adults (16 years and over) and well behaved dogs. Prices £12.50 per person per night. Find availability and booking at www.pitchup.com
