Overland Launch Anniversary Celebration – The Journey

Sponsored haul of Lynmouth’s Rescue Boat
Raising funds for RNLI and Lynmouth Boathouse 

On Saturday the 13th January 2024 at 7.30a.m the Lynmouth Sailing Club will journey from Lynmouth to Porlock Weir hauling the safety boat ‘Gilbey’, paying homage to the 125th Anniversary of the Overland Launch of the lifeboat ‘Louisa’, at Porlock Weir.

Approximate timings:
7.30am – Maroon firing from Lynmouth harbour starts the haul.
8.25 am – Reach the Blue Ball Inn, Countisbury (no stop).
10.10am – Arrive at County Gate (brief stop).
12pm – Reach Culbone Stables (brief lunch stop).
1.00 pm – Reach the top of Porlock Hill (no stop).
2.00pm- Arrive at Top Ship, Porlock (brief stop).
3.30pm – Arrive at the Bottom Ship, Porlock Weir. Ready for the celebrations to continue.
