Porlock Visitor Centre hosted an open afternoon on Tuesday March 7th to show visitors and the community some of the many positive changes made at the centre and to find out more about the work it does for tourism and the community.

The event was a chance to show new produce for sale – pictured here – and also to launch the Porlock Vale Lottery.

Centre manager Debbie Stanyon said: “Thank you to everyone who came along to our Open Afternoon with the launch of the Porlock Vale Lottery, expanding the Friends of Porlock Visitor Centre and a chance to see some of our new local crafters.
“There was a great atmosphere, lots of chatting and polishing off of the amazing cakes and biscuits provided by very generous volunteers.”

“It was lovely to see people from the outlying villages as well as the community popping in to support the Visitor Centre. A special thank you to Wendy, Cathy, Lorraine and Chris for the delicious cakes and biscuits.”

Tickets for Porlock Vale Lottery, which officially launches on April 1st, cost just £15 for one year with a chance to win a first prize of £50 or second prize of £25 each month.

Porlock Visitor Centre is self-funding and relies on grants and the generosity of those who support the centre. If you would like to find out more about becoming a Friend, buying a lottery ticket or becoming a member, please call 01643 863150, email visit@porlock.co.uk or pop into the centre.
