It was yet another sell-out success for Porlock Open Gardens as visitors flocked to enjoy the efforts of green-fingered residents.

Holiday makers and day trippers came from across the country to enjoy the delights of the gardens on show last weekend.

This year’s event saw a range of different garden styles and showcased gardens in West Porlock and Bossington Lane.

Porlock Visitor Centre manager Debbie Stanyon said: “We were delighted by the turnout and by all the positive comments from those who came along. A couple from Wiltshire even told me they drove to the village just for the event.

“The gardens were amazing and the atmosphere was fabulous – it really was a fantastic weekend.

“Thank you to all our gardeners for throwing open their gardens and for working so hard to ensure they were in tip top condition.”

Rainbow Flowers set up a plant stall at The Old School Building over the weekend which proved a huge success.

All funds raised from ticket sales go towards keeping Porlock Visitor Centre open and the Porlock Vale Tourist Association is very grateful for the generous support of Porlock’s gardeners.
