Porlock Visitor Centre is thrilled to have been awarded Silver in the Visitor Information Centre of the Year category in the Bristol, Bath and Somerset tourism awards 2022-2023.
The centre achieved Bronze in 2021-2022 and following constructive feedback from the judges they embraced the suggestions which has resulted in Porlock Visitor Centre being awarded Silver this year.
At a time when many Visitor Centres across the country have closed or are planned for closure, Porlock is fortunate to have a thriving and pro-active information centre which promotes all the benefits of Porlock Vale as a tourist destination.
It sits at the heart of the community and offers so much more than advising our visitors on what they can see and do while they are here. Porlock Vale businesses benefit from very active promotion and publicity driven by the centre and the community know that the Visitor Centre is always there to answer any of their questions.
Deborah Stanyon, Visitor Centre Manager said, “This is an acknowledgement and recognition for all of the hard work which our staff and volunteers do in the Visitor Centre and for our community. I am deeply appreciative for their support and continue to be grateful for the incredible support which we receive from our businesses and residents of Porlock Vale. We have to set our sights on gold for next year!”
We also congratulate Bossington Hall Luxury Bed and Breakfast for gaining Gold and Orchard Escapes for achieving Silver in their respective categories in the Tourism Awards.
