Porlock thrives and survives on its extraordinary volunteer support and on Sunday 7th July, Porlock Information Centre organised a cream tea afternoon to say thank you to all who give their time so generously to the community.
Over 40 volunteers came along and enjoyed delicious scones and a very social afternoon. It was an opportunity to meet friends and make new friends, as people chatted about shared interests and their connection to the community.
The Village Hall looked beautiful with tables laid with flowers and generous servings of scones and abundant cups of tea for all. Mervyn and Katherine, from Boards Head, provided perfect background music on the hammer dulcimer and harp.
We received several comments, that this is the first time that the volunteers have been acknowledged in this way and we look forward to making this an annual event.
All funds raised from ticket sales go towards keeping Porlock Information Centre open and the Porlock Vale CIC is very grateful for the generous support of Porlock’s gardeners.
